Eco Errázuriz is an artist from Colombia based in Bern, Switzerland.

As one of their main practices, they create scores to be performed by themselves, musicians, choirs and audiences. These scores often include choreographic indications and poetic text alongside traditional music notation.

Eco also makes sound-based installative performances that inquire on the cultural, visual and emotional ecosystem of concerts and other live, communal listening contexts, through audience engagement, embodied experience and fragility as both method and aesthetic.

In their stage works, Eco embodies gender/genre-queer character-instruments that involve technology as a natural extension of their communicative possibilities.

As a performing musician and improviser, they play the computer, synthesizers and voice for theater and dance productions; and in solo and collaborative experimental music concerts wherein they approach the aesthetics of drone, noise, ambient and contemporary music through free improvisation and open-form composition.

They have performed in Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and Colombia, in venues such as Dampfzentrale (Bern), Matik-matik (Bogotá), MAMM (Medellín) and Brønshøj Vandtårn (Copenhagen).

They hold a Bachelor Degree in Music Composition from Eafit University, Medellín, with an exchange year at KASK & Conservatorium School of Arts in Gent, Belgium. They are currently pursuing a master’s in Contemporary Arts Practice at HKB, Bern, specializing in Sound Arts and Performance.
