Listening mirror no. 2 (doorbell)
A one-to-one theatrical installation with 9.1 multichannel sound and interactive elements.
Listening mirrors are works that inquire on what happens when we listen to ourselves listening. In them, I find different ways of recording the audience as they experience the piece, which is in itself the manipulation and playback of these recordings.
For "Listening mirror no. 2", a doorbell is placed at the entrance of a room.
To enter the room, the visitor must ring the doorbell, after which they are presented with the routine question of a doorbell interaction: “who is it?”
After replying, the visitor is invited into the room, where an automated light-and-soundtrack develops as they walk through a corridor of future, present and past sounds, and the visitor's own voice.
When: Presented during À Suivre festival in Bern, Switzerland in June, 2026.
